Tired of Allergy Med’s? Does Vitamin C work better?

vit-c-caps.jpg

It does for me! It has been 3 years since my last allergy pill!

Having suffered from allergies for most of my life, I’d taken Claratin-D for 7 years almost on a daily basis. When I began taking Frequency Foods products, I had no idea that they could be so potent and life-changing!

After a few months of taking the Quantum Vitamin C, I noticed my need for the allergy pill was diminishing. My eyes weren’t as red and irritated and my nose wasn’t as congested.

The only time my allergies seem to rear their head now is in the spring. But instead of taking an allergy pill, I take 2 Quantum Vitamin C when I wake up. Within a half and hour, I can breathe and I’m wide awake! (with no heart palpitations or jitters!) And they seem to be less severe each year…. which tells me my immune system is getting healthier instead of just treating the allergic symptoms with an allergy pill.

I’d never noticed this difference when taking other Vitamin C supplements.

Why I asked? For quite a few reasons I found out from Frequency Foods.

Their Quantum Vitamin C is derived from a natural, whole-food source for maximum effectiveness – many other Vitamin C products use synthetic forms of ascorbic acid which the human body cannot absorb.

Frequency Foods Quantum Vitamin C contains a mineral blend that includes potassium, magnesium, sodium, zinc, and iron – exactly like you would find in natural foods.

And there are quite a few others as well. So if you suffer from allergies and want to learn more about the differences in the quality and effectiveness of Vitamin C products, Click Here to learn more..

How Did I Get My 11-yr-old Daughter to Eat Raw Cabbage and Like it?

cabbage.jpg

By using a recipe I just learned from my to-be-mother-in-law, called ‘salad.’ Luisa was visiting from Ecuador and made her infamous ‘salad’ that my other half grew up on. Always trying to find new ways to get different vegetable in, I watched her and gave it a whirl myself.

My 11-yr-old daughter not only ate it but she loved it and wanted more. She prefers it over traditional salad. It is pretty quick and relatively easy…

All you need is:

  • head of cabbage
  • a tomato or two
  • olive oil
  • lemons or lemon juice
  • garlic
  • salt & pepper
  • fresh cilantro

Of course, I used all Organic Ingredients.

I did not measure anything, just what looked good.

1/2 of the cabbage shredded is more than enough for a family of four. A diced tomato.

Then toss it with the desired amount of (olive oil approx. 1/4 cup, juice from a couple of lemons, a pressed clove of garlic, salt & pepper to taste and the ingredient I believe makes it – fresh cilantro chopped.)

Viola! Raw cabbage that my 11 yr old loved!

Cabbage is high in Vitamin K & C and is known for detoxifying the body. You can get all the details about cabbage at a great new site I just found called “World’s Healthiest Foods.”

Enjoy!

Stop Throwing Away Your Money on Probiotics!

probiotics2.jpg

Take your probiotics, just make sure they’re the right ones!

What are Probiotics? They are the ‘friendly’ gut flora that naturally occur in the body. You can benefit from supplementing with these ‘good guys’ when the ‘bad’ bacteria have taken over this ‘good’ supply. This usually happens when ingesting too much sugar, or using antibiotics for example.

They aren’t cheap and there are so many different brands on the market, how do you know which one to buy?

There are a few factors to consider before buying…

  • Does the company improperly freeze dry? If they do, it can kill up to 90% of the viable organisms. Which means there is not a point in taking probiotics if the ‘good’ guys are dead.
  • Are they able to survive sealed in the bottle? If they weren’t improperly freeze dried and they are alive – are they sealed in with nutrients that can feed them until you ingest them? If not, how many are still alive by that time?
  • Do the ‘good’ guys have an escort through the acid bath of the stomach and small intestine so they can attach to the gut wall? Most don’t survive the acid bath trip so if they survived freezing, and their stay in the bottle, they probably won’t make it through the acid without help.
  • Are the strands of ‘good’ guys the ones that have the highest success rate of gut wall attachment? If not, then surviving freeze drying, bottle life, and the acid bath, will they be able to attach and multiply so they can work for you?

Probiotics from Frequency Foods address all of these issues, so you know that you are getting what you pay for!
